Endotracheal Tube Placement with Complications - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit demonstrates a failed attempt at endotracheal intubation. The tube is inserted down into the esophagus to the level of T3. Air passes through the tube and into the stomach. The stomach is forced to expand which causes the abdomen to bulge and push against the diaphragm and the other internal organs, including the heart. This may affect the heart, lungs and other organs.
