This stock medical exhibit depicts the progression of coronary artery dissection in a series of illustrations. The first illustration consists of an overview of a heart and an insert showing a cutaway view of a healthy coronary artery. The second illustration shows the cutaway view of the artery with a small tear in the tunica intima layer. The third illustration shows the tear getting larger and a thrombus starting to form. The fourth illustration shows the the thrombus grown to the point where it completely occludes the artery.
