Post-accident L5-S1 Lumbar Injury with Surgical Stabilization and Fusion

This exhibit depicts a bilateral pars interarticularis fracture with impingement of the L5 nerve bilaterally. A posterior incision is made exposing vertebral levels from L3 down to S1. The lamina and spinous process of Vertebrae L5 is removed, discectomy is performed at L5-S1, two capstone filled with autologous arthrodesis are placed into the interspace and stabilization is achieved with hardware.
