Nucleus Medical Art
Position Available - IT Administrator
Immediate Opening

Nucleus Medical Art Nucleus Medical Art is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. In business since 1996, we currently have 30 employees, including medical illustrators, sales, developers, and support staff. The company creates and licenses high-quality medical illustrations and animations for the legal, healthcare, and publishing markets.

This is a contract-to-hire position. Initially, the successful candidate will be hired on a six-month contract as an onsite, full-time contractor, so that both Nucleus Medical Art and the candidate can assess the arrangement. At the end of the six months, the contract position will be converted to a full-time, salaried position at the discretion of Nucleus Medical Art and the employee.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two or more years of experience maintaining a network of Mac OS X-based workstations
  • At least one or more years of experience maintaining an OpenDirectory Master on Mac OS X
  • Experience maintaining and backing up very large (more than two terabytes) image and animation asset databases
  • Two or more years maintaining color and monochrome printers, including large format
  • Two or more years maintaining and updating Linux-based enterprise-level production servers, including Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc.
  • Quick, efficient worker, able to work productively with limited oversight
  • Confident, capable, and pleasant communicator
  • Experience assessing a task, formulating an approach to completing the task, and implementing the solution
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely
  • Willing to become a permanent, full-time, onsite employee during ordinary business hours

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Trouble-shooting problems at personal workstations, printers, and scanners
  • Administration of internal users on the file/email servers
  • Administration and update of applications on production Red Hat Linux servers
  • Maintenance of the backup system for workstations and very large asset database
  • Software and hardware purchase research
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION
