This stock medical exhibit displays left tri-malleolar ankle fractures with surgical fixation in a series of illustrations. The first illustration shows the post-accident fractures, including a medial malleolus (tibial) fracture, a posterior malleolar (tibial) fracture and a lateral malleolar (fibular) fracture. The second illustration shows an incision in the lateral left ankle and fixation of the lateral malleolar fracture. The third illustration shows an incision in the medial left ankle and fixation of the medial malleolar fractures. The fourth illustration shows an anterior view of the post-operative fixation of the ankle, including a K-wire and malleolar screw, a plate and four screws and an anterior-posterior fixation screw.
